An Awesome Spring Semester in Copenhagen October 19, 2022
By A student (Economics, Middlebury College) - abroad from 01/15/2022 to 05/14/2022 with
DIS Copenhagen: Semester
What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained a new understanding of living in a foreign city with a culture that had similarities and differences to cities in the US. It was very worthwhile to live in a new place and not know many people around me, and definitely pushed me outside of my comfort zone in the best way possible.

A Look Back
* What did you like most about the program? |
|
* What could be improved? |
|
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Before going to this program, I wish I knew that it would sometimes be hard to fully immerse yourself in the Danish culture since the program is big, the city is somehwat small, and you're therefore always seeing other American University students around you. While this can be nice during the transition, it definitely made it evident that we were all studying abroad in the same place and almost gave it the touristy feel that you would experience on a vacation to a popular European city. Again, this isn't necessarily a negative thing, but just something to keep in mind depending on the program you're seeking out for your abroad experience. |
