What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I could not speak more highly about DIS Copenhagen. It is a well-run program in a lovely city. I was challenged to ask deep questions about the world we live in while also being provided ample opportunities for fun. It was truly a semester filled with joy!

It was super cool to be able to take classes about the city/country I was living in! It enhances my experience a lot.

DIS offers a lot of resources and support to students. I could not speak more highly about the staff and administration.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

While housing can vary, most arrangements are top-notch. I had a beautiful apartment in an ideal location equipped with everything I could have needed.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Social and cultural integration is really up to you. Volunteering, attending community events, etc. are great ways to become integrated.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

DIS has great physical and mental health support. Don't be shy to ask staff or administrators if you have any questions.

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Copenhagen is a very expensive city!

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Start saving in advance, make a budget for the whole semester before you leave, and apply for as many scholarships as you can.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? No matter the program, I would encourage everyone to set goals and expectations for their semester before they left. What you get out of a semester abroad is dependent on what you put into it!
