It was absolutely worthwhile. I learned how to be even more independent and learned how to navigate new places and unfamiliar faces on my own.

I loved DIS and had a wonderful experience with the people I met.

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Practice speaking the language since Danish in particular was difficult to learn.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Social media does not accurately describe what it is like to study abroad. While you will travel and have many amazing experiences, some days are difficult. Make sure you have a good support system at home and, if you can, around you to help you get through the most challenging bits.

The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
