DIS Copenhagen: Semester

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It made me fall in love with my studies even more because of the hands on experience and practical learning that they don't teach in the states.

Personal Information

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

* Housing:

Food in Denmark is expensive, so I had to cook a lot. The stipend they give you is about $600, which lasted the whole semester for me (though I sometimes would buy food with my own money).

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Copenhagen is incredible, I always felt extremely safe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I definitely spent a lot of money this semester, but I planned for it because it is such a once in a lifetime opportunity.

History of European Film

Course Department: Film
Instructor: Morten Egholm
Instruction Language: English
Comments: Loved this class so much. The instructor is incredibly kind and wants every student to succeed. Be prepared to watch about 2 movies on your own every week, though I would watch each film with some of my peers from the class, which made for a great social opportunity.
