Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Easier program which gives lots of support from profs. Lots of time off to travel and explore Copenhagen. Learned a lot in a lower stress environment.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Loved my housing. Highly recommend host families or residential housing with other students.

* Food:

Receive a generous stipend to buy groceries and discounts at cafes and restaurants.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Could have more integration with local Danes, but there are plenty of opportunities to do so and living with a host family would also help.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I had to get medications while I was there and it was very accessible and DIS staff are very helpful.

* Safety:

Safest place on earth!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Generous stipend for food and lots of expenses like transit covered

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Maybe a couple hundred dollars to go out and eat at restaurants. Can definetely budget better though!
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? If you plan on travelling, try to buy plane tickets in advance to get better deals. Would also try to save up so you can spend on travel, which is a huge highlight of the budget.
