Copenhagen: Challenging, Cold, Isolating Yet Life Changing Past Review
By Claire P (English Literature/Women & Gender Studies, Pacific Lutheran University) for
DIS Copenhagen: Semester
What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was worthwhile...I learned a lot and am I more evolved young woman now. However the people on my program were all from the East Coast and were wealthy, privileged and apathetic. I had a hard time connecting with them. The Danes were also challenging to get to know. My living situation was isolating and disappointing.

Language
| * Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |

We mostly practiced in the classroom. The Danes are very proficient English speakers; therefore when you when out into Copenhagen, Danes would prefer to speak English than Danish. This made it hard to practice. |
