Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I really loved almost all of my classes! If fact, some of the courses I took were some of my favorites of my entire college experience. Because the classes are kept fairly small and you spend a lot of time with your professors both in class and during field trips and study tours you have the unique opportunity to get to know your professors very well! I really loved getting to learn about my incredibly interesting and talented professors both in an academic environment and outside of class. This is an amazing and unique opportunity that students often do not have at their home universities. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
I loved the program and would highly recommend it. DIS is incredibly organized and makes the transition to living abroad very easy for students. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |

* Food: |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I had so much fun, the program was amazing! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Copenhagen is a very safe city and I always felt very safe. Your Visa for Denmark includes healthcare and you are assigned a doctor, so it is very easy (and free) to get medical help if you are sick. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes

Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | It was easy to budget food and personal expenses while in Copenhagen (although Copenhagen is EXTREMELY expensive), but it was more difficult to do so when planning travel. If you want to travel on weekends and during breaks you should expect to spend quite a bit of money. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Be realistic about how much money you have to spend during the course of your time (if you have a limited budget) and make decisions accordingly. Your experience should not be dictated by how much money you have and you should not miss out on the opportunity to travel while abroad because of not having a ton of money, but you should also know how much money you do have to spend or are comfortable spending and make smart decisions about how you are going to spend your money. |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | any type of student can benefit from this program because of the variety of program offerings. DIS is very organized and leaves little room for students to make mistakes regarding their study abroad experience so this is a great program for students who need some hand-holding when it comes to figuring out the logistics (DIS makes it pretty impossible for students to miss deadlines regarding Visas and passports and immediately when you arrive they tell you all of the information you need to know about how to get to and from school via public transportation), but it is also a great program for more independent students as well. |
