What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was well worth it. I got to meet locals through my host family and friends I could stay connected with through the program. At the same time, I picked up a bit of the language, and have connections to a country I'm sure I'll return to.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? The semester passes pretty quickly, and it's easy to stay inside, especially when it's colder out, but there are still a lot of fun things to do in the winter/early spring.

Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
