Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I found it to be academically rigorous and interesting. If anything, it was slightly easier than my home institution. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
They were quite organized and very good at helping students. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I lived in a hotel paid for by the program with a maid. I really cannot complain. |
* Food: |
Food was our responsibility and the stipend ran out halfway through. You are expected to pay for the remainder by yourself. I did not like this aspect. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
It fell on you to do this. More opportunities would have been nice. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I had none but my firends' experience was quite satisfactory. |
* Safety: |
Quite literally the safest place I have ever been in the world. I never felt threatened and my friends never did either. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
Stockholm was just a little too expensive and dark. I do not regret doing my program at all though. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Stockholm is quite expensive but if you budget well and don't spend terribly too much you will be fine. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $150 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Its better if you drink sparingly, the libations in Sweden are quite expensive. |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?
0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language |
|
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | None |
How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? | Beginner |
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? | Advanced French |
How many hours per day did you use the language? | |
Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? | Swedes do not like you speaking Swedish. It is better if you accept this early. |
