Emerson College: Kasteel Well: The Netherlands

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I am a changed person after living at Kasteel Well. Every minute I was learning something new- about the world and about myself. I came to appreciate and miss my own culture as a result of being away from it for so long, in a way I never have before. I made friends that I will never lose, and memories that I'll never forget.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was light, which was conducive to enjoying the educational experiences that visiting other countries provided.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Every single administrator, especially Dulcia, was exceptionally helpful and caring.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I gave 4/5 because the accommodations were acceptable, but the town itself had little to offer.

* Food:

It could have been worse, but some days it was inedible.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The group excursions were the most fun I've had in my entire life. And I found that I learned more about the world and about myself while traveling with the groups.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

The castle and the town were both perfectly safe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)
