Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

It was really special to learn in the Emerson College Netherland campus. I learned so much about the culture and my own from a removed point of view. I had European teachers teaching about their countries while studying art and being able to then go and see the works for myself.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

would liked to have had the opportunity to learn a language myself at the abroad campus

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

We lived in a wonderful castle. There were some staff members who lived there too.

* Food:

The food was appropriate. Maybe one or two more hot meals could be included.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We traveled every weekend. You were given the responsiblity to act as adult and plan our own weekly trips with the option of staying at the castle. Truly a special place.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

We were very well informed by the maintenance staff of how technology such as outlets and the energy conversion worked. All buildings required a electronic key fob allowing us to get in. Although the castle is a national monument which attracted many tourists and even weddings on campus. The town was very tiny and I felt safe at all times. In addition we were allowed 2 doctor visits that were included in the cost and were given sufficient contact information to the office of student services at the castle.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
