What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Very worthwhile. I grew so much when coming out of my comfort zone. The friendships I made with travel buddies are so deep and special. My mind was opened.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Academics linked to travels and the professors were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Organized and welcoming to students. The administration knew what it was doing.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

CASTLE!! amazing experience! Bring earphones though because the walls are like paper.

* Food:

Very good.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I would have liked a bit more of an immersion than a weekend travel time. However, now I know what to go back to! the Castle program is a great introduction to traveling and living abroad.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

No--barely any Dutch.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? take risks but be safe. Soak in all the knowledge. Don't be afraid of being "stupid," because you're a student. Try out languages, and interact with local people.
