What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Although it was a great deal of work balancing an internship and classes, the program provided me with an inside networking tool to begin my career on after graduation. This was a great program that was completely worthwhile and one that I would recommend to any Emerson student pursuing a job in the entertainment industry.

Individual Course Reviews

Course Name/Rating:

Directing Actors for the Screen

Course Department: VM373
Instructor: J. Todd Walker
Instruction Language: English
Comments: The professor is well trained and knowledgeable about the field of acting and directing which was extremely helpful throughout the class. He is also very hands on with his techniques and is enthusiastic about what he teaches. The only negative aspect of the class was that for the first half of the class, the directors (students) also have to double as actors, instead of being able to work with professionals or at least other student actors from Emerson. This became a problem for some who didn't enjoy acting.
Credit Transfer Issues: No, this was my last semester before graduation so credit transfer issues were not applicable.

Seminar in Media Arts: Television Genres

Course Department: VM402E
Instructor: Candace Moore
Instruction Language: English
Comments: One of the most enjoyable but challenging courses I've ever taken at Emerson College. The professor was very pleasant and open minded to all her student's opinions and enjoyed creating a round-table type of classroom setting open for all discussion. The only negative aspect of this class is that it was very time consuming. The reading required is of graduate level performance and comprehension but involving a plethora of topics within TV genres.
Credit Transfer Issues: No, this was my last semester before graduation so credit transfer issues were not applicable.
