Elon Center @ FIE London Past Review
By Kari M (Strategic Communications, Elon University) for
FIE (Foundation for International Education): London - Study and Intern Program
YES! It was great. Everyone should go abroad, and this is a comfortable, dynamic program. London is an amazing city, and since this is affiliated with London it makes it easy to go through our school so all Elon students should consider it.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
We were able to have an internship abroad, take interesting classes, and had Fridays off to travel on the weekends. Overall it was a great experience to live in London, and I felt I really got to know the city and learned so much! |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Great! |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Little Venice, really beautiful, safe and residential part of London. Flats were nice, and lived with other Americans and Elon students. Close to tube, about 40 minute tube ride to class, and not hard to get to big locations in London. |
* Food: |
Food was good. You are responsible for getting your own, and there is a Tesco mart right down the street, as well as a few cafes. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I wish we interacted more with local students, or other University study abroad students. There were not many social events set up. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Our resident professor was helpful and supportive of our needs. London feels safe, and we were in a safe area. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
