Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The teaching methods were much more beneficial to me as an artist. My professor, Melania, introduced me to the world of etching, which is not offered at my home college. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
This university had the best of both worlds: an American Dean and professor, and an Italian. Together, they made everything easier and more fluid because they knew what we needed to know. Having an American and an English speaking Italian professor really helped me during my day to day life abroad. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I loved our apartment. We didn't need to buy any appliances. We were only a short distance from all the main attractions: Santa Croce, the Duomo, etc. |
* Food: |
Eat everything, evern if you have never tried it before. Except lampredotto... It tastes like rubber. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
We had the opportunity to go to the Venice binnale which was amazing. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Florence is an amazingly safe city. I was often surprised at how many times I was helped by Italians. From directions to groceries, the Italians are great at helping out. I didn't need anything through healthcare, but i was aware that the pharmacies are MUCH more helpful than they are in America. I did not need any vaccines. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
