What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
studying abroad showed me how well I can live in other countries. I can't wait to travel once I graduate

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Each teacher was different teaching styles so learn what each teacher expects you to get out of the class. Understanding some of the professors accents was a little difficult at first.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

the neightborhood was completely safe, it was perfectly fine to walk home alone at 3am. the nightlife was a bit of a walk but it was good because there was so much going on. To get to the Duomo, which is the universal meeting place for all college students was only 15 minute walk. Certain classes were a farther walk, around 20-30 mins, depending on traffic in front of Duomo and in certain Piazza's.

* Food:

Food was great, cooked by students who were culinary majors.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

amazing!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I tried to budget my money so around 70 euro was spent on food (groceries and outside meals), drinks and club money, and any gifts or random things I was and wanted to buy.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Outside traveling and traveling on the weekends always cost more than anticipated but always worth it.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

I took an Italian language and culture class so it was very helpful. We were taught by an Italian woman who would take us through out the city and show us certain things and teach the Italian language in everyday use.
