Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
London as a city is quite expensive. Fortunately there are cheaper options at the supermarkets |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | About 40 pounds ($65) |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Buy Sainsbury's Basics, Tesco Everyday Value, or Waitrose Essentials. Also, Britain has "sell-by" dates that are often very conservative. Most stores (including those above and Co-Op Food) will sell these for a reduced rate on this date so they don't have to throw them away. You can get some great deals, including on items that can be frozen to keep them safely. |
