Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The courses provided by APA itself were horrible. I think they tried to model the american university system... but with no sympathy or acknowledgement that french is our second language. in the actual university courses I took I received more support and understanding form the professors, whereas at APA it seemed they wanted us to devote our entire lives to their two makeshift university courses. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Incredibly unprofessional and intrusive. If you missed a class they would call you 15-20 times demanding to know why, but never restated the absence policy which led to 4 students in my program (of 10 students) to almost fail an APA directed course... for which they claimed it wasn't their responsibility to tell us about absences... even though the resources were never available to us online. The staff would make snarky or biting comments and clearly exhibited favoritism. Overall they cast a huge shadow over my study abroad experience. Would highly not recommend. |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Nearly Native or Trail BlazerCraving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.' |
