I loved it mostly for my host family. My french improved greatly and I learned that I absolutely LOVE trains! Because of my experience there, I've become less afraid of being independent and am less afraid of the big world than I was.

Your family provides everything! You might have to buy a phone, but my family provided mine for me. |

French food is kind of all the same ofter a while but that's no big deal! If you have any dietary restrictions, the program works it out for you so it's no problem. |

How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
There were always a lot of events and trips (chateaux around Tours, trips to Brittany and Normandy, soccer games, hockey games, etc.) |

We never had any issues but the program made available everyone's number in case of an emergency. |

I practiced with everyone, everywhere (except with my fellow Americans)! Very few in Nantes speak English and all of my classes were conducted in French. |
