Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Fudan SOE Visiting Student- class sizes were small, professors were attentive, and students were high caliber. was there for the 70th anniversary of founding of china, so everyone was extremely happy and excited. great time to be alive!

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

could have been a little more guidance before departure, but once there, everything was sorted out in a timely fashion

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

fudan international dorms were OK. not the cleanest, but not the worst. significantly better than the local students, though.

* Food:

boba for 4 rmb! and the meals were delicious, though some canteens were better than others

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

wish i were a litle more proactive, but they do give you opportunities if this is the path you wish to pursue

* Health Care:

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

spent about 700 rmb/week, which is quite reasonable in shanghai

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.

Comments: very challenging, but learned a lot about the state of FDI in China. mostly presentation and lecture-based with a somewhat difficult final at the end. the professor was knowledgable. did a deep dive into a single academic paper each week...overall great course
