About
Why not spend your gap year building critical language skills in the Middle East? You'll take intensive language classes, live with a local Jordanian roommate, have weekly meetings with a language partner, volunteer with a local organization... you'll even uphold a partial language pledge. All that practice prepares you to take an official Oral Proficiency Interview at the end of the term—perfect for adding to a résumé or school application. And by the time your first semester of college rolls around, you'll have the knowledge and tools to test out of foreign language requirements or continue to thrive in Arabic classes. All students are placed into the appropriate levels of Modern Standard Arabic and Jordanian Dialect. Gap students also have a weekly seminar (in English) for extra support and community building.
