What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
We were required to have an internship, which was really special. I had a great time at my internship and learned a lot. I also loved my classes - the professors were engaging, and fellow students really made me think outside of the box.

On-site administration of your program

The on-site administration of this program was fantastic; everyone was accessible by e-mail or phone at any hour, and I felt super well supported by all staff and faculty.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived "off-campus" in an apartment building, as opposed to in the dorms that were provided to students. I enjoyed living by myself, mostly because I was a year older than most students and

I loved DC food, but there weren't many opportunities on the SCS campus to eat, which I think limited the student relationships.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I felt very well-integrated, especially because of the opportunities the program provided - from National Press Club events to

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

There were no health issues in DC at the time, and the local system was easy to use. At one point, I had a really bad flu and I went to the Georgetown University Main Campus Health Center, and they were very helpful.

* Safety:

I felt very safe going in and out of the Georgetown School of Continuing Studies building in Chinatown. I think the overall safety of the city is high, but I would not put a 5 only because there are risks to being in a large city.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

DC is a really expensive city; things cost a lot. It was definitely a place where I had to budget.
