Cyprus is a place of true magic and history worth exploring! Past Review
By A student (University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill) - abroad from 06/06/2018 to 07/04/2018 with
University of Nicosia - Global Semesters: Nicosia - Summer in Cyprus: Pre-Med
My experience abroad showed me a new part of the world while reminding me that there are problems in the world that cannot go away over night and that just because the United States is not involved in the altercation between countries, it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Very helpful and there when needed. |

|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
We were able to experience a lot of what it is like to live in Cyprus. It was also great to see all the different sites and be able to take it all in throughout the weekends. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I did not have to go to the hospital or to a doctor for anything but the pharmacies around campus were great! |
* Safety: |
Always felt fairly safe within reasonable hours of the night. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
I really enjoyed my experience and was able to learn things with cadavers that I otherwise may not have the opportunity to do so at my home university. The only thing that I did not care for was seven hour classroom days. It was very exhausting to have seven hours of class. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
It is hard to save money in big groups and when it is extremely hot outside. Other than that, the country is fairly cheap with grocery stores (excluding personal hygiene products) and souvenirs. |

The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
