What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I was able to see a part of the world that is completely different from where I come from. Being able to see and take part in the amazing culture of this part of China made the trip worthwhile in itself. On top of that, I gained teaching skills, and was able to take Chinese language and culture classes from some great teachers.

  • The cultures and landscapes in this area
  • The opportunity to take language and culture classes
* What could be improved?
  • The school administration was sometimes disorganized whien dealing with classroom issues
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? It can be hard to find decent shoes that fit westerners in this area, so either bring plenty of extra pairs or have someone mail you new ones before your old ones go bad.
