Personal Information
How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 2 weeks - 1 month |
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I did not want to overload myself during the summer, and it was a good decision because depending on the course, the workload was not so bad. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Staff was amazing, and they were very on top of things. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Dorms were clean, and a great way to meet a friend. |
* Food: |
Food was not included in the price, however, there was a cafeteria in which each meal was about a dollar and a half. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were served. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
On campus, it did not feel as integrated, but that might be because it is during the summer meaning most students are not around. Because it is an international summer school, we were mostly around other international students like us. Once we took a step off campus, the immersion began. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Seoul is very safe as long as you don't go into sketchy areas. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
Hanyang University is a lovely institute. Has many hills, but that's part of its charm! |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
It is hard if you are a spender. I had a hard time not spending all of my money on k-pop merchandise. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | about $150-200 (depends on the food purchased) |

Direct Enrollment/Exchange
* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? | Exchange |
