Hollins University: London - Summer Internship
I have great memories with my friends and that was what truly made it a blast. It has made me appreciate a lot of little things abotu America more, like cars, food, and my family.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I loved Professor Fosdal. He might have been the only legitimate part of the course. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Sara Levine was fantastic, Fos was fantastic. CAPA was horrible. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Too far from the city, the dad was annoying but tolerable, definitely treated as a guest. I preferred the host family of my friends. |
* Food: |
I had a really hard time with food because everything was so expensive and I couldn't seem to find good fruits and vegetables anywhere. I would recommend that students purchase a Rick Steves guide and a Michelin guide to help find affordable, good places to eat. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I loved the weekend excursions my friends and I would take to Oxford, Windsor, Cambridge, Brighton, and Bath. I think the program needs to include more field trips because we all kind of did our own things and it would've been fun to go to Bath with the whole class. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
No issues here |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Someone who has friends with them, they should live in Chelsea Cloisters, they should want to experience an in-between of America and Europe because London isn't totally "European" |
