I learned so much about the world around me as well as about myself. Past Review
By Maggie D (Art and Digital Design, Loras College) - abroad from 01/06/2013 to 04/26/2013 with
IADT - Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology: Dun Laoghaire - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
I gained a new perspective on how I see the world and how I communicate with others from different cultures. It was definitely worth every penny.

Personal Information
| How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 0-2 weeks |
Review Your Program
| * Overall educational experience Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. | The classes were first and second year classes so they weren't very difficult. There was also not very much work, besides a major paper. |
| * Host Country Program Administration On-site administration of your program |
 |
| * Housing: How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? | It was a very nice neighborhood and the apartments were nice, but I would like to be around more people my age. |
| * Food: | It was not difficult to find cheap and decent food, but there were some American foods we just could not find. |
| * Social & Cultural Integration: How integrated did you feel with the local culture? | I felt very at home, but I think this experience may have been even better had I had more chances to interact with Irish students my age. |
| * Health Care: How well were health issues addressed during the program? | I never personally had to deal with healthcare, but I heard that one of my classmates had to wait a very long time to get help at the hospital. |
| * Safety: | I felt completely safe in Dublin and never had anything stolen. I didn't hear of my classmates having any problems either |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? | Yes
 |
Finances
| * Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget? (1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) | During the average week, I would spend less that $100, but if it was a week where I was travelling, I would spend over $200 with all of the travel expenses. |
| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $80/week |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Schedule travel in advance and buy groceries with others and split the cost. |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
| To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. | The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
