Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The relationship between student and teacher was less formal than the traditional American student teacher relationship. The workload wasn't bad, we didn't have any outside of class homework besides reading/studying for tests. Also I felt like they go over more inforamation in a class and are at times hard to understand. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The administration was good and helpful. The program was a perfect size of about 30 students. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I liked our housing location. We were close to downtown, so we could walk to go shopping and out to places around town. We only had to worry about getting the bus for school. Our rooms were good and came with sheets and a fridge. |
* Food: |
The food was really good. I learned that the French eat more for lunch than dinner. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
We got to do a lot of traveling. We saw war memorials/muesums, eiffel tower, Palace of Versailles, beaches of Normandy, visit of Nancy France and Strasbourg,Mount Saint Michel, and on weekends we got to go any where we wanted. It was a blast. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I thought the safety was good and easy to find medicine |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
|
Language acquisition improvement? |
I got to practice French going out to places to eat and shopping. I also practiced my French with some of the local students, fellow students, and my French teacher I noticed a lot of people could speak some English. I remember helping them with English and then they would help me with French. |
