IES Abroad: Barcelona - Study Abroad with IES Abroad

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I had always wanted to study abroad but at the same time I was a little scared to just venture into the world all on my own. IES Barcelona was the perfect fit for me! They provided the support needed while allowing me the freedom to take full advantage of my study abroad experience. The staff was great help in getting settled in and welcoming us to this amazing city. They were there for advice and aid whenever needed and also had great suggestions for weekend entertainment. As a student I was able to take classes with the IES professors and at the local universities as well. My favorite part was the great internship I was able to work at thanks to IES. The program has connections with different organizations all over the city and are able to help out students with all sorts of majors. I definitely recommend studying abroad through IES!

The Nearly Native or Trail Blazer
Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
