Peak of my academic career thus far... Past Review

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Going abroad was easily the best experience of my life thus far. I got to take classes that are not offered at my home institution, witness nationwide student protests, explore the wildlife and nature, make lifelong friends, all in the beautiful city of Cape Town.

The Networker
An active student leader, it was important for you to network abroad as well. Once overseas, you sought out student clubs, volunteered with local organizations, or attended community events. You encouraged your friends join you, and often considered how you could reflect your international experiences in a resume.

Health and Community Development in South Africa

Comments: The field trips and service learning were the best parts of this class. I would highly recommend volunteering with SHAWCO during your stay in Cape Town. It is a wonderfully organization that provides you with skills that just cannot compare to anything I would receive in the U.S. at this level of education.
