La vida loca! Past Review
By Shurouq H (Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Rochester) - abroad from 01/12/2015 to 06/01/2015 with
IES Abroad: Madrid - Engineering, Math & Science
What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was definitely worth it! I think letting myself get lost with my friends and learning how to use a real map rather than GPS always ended with an interesting story! Overall, I expanded my cultural awareness and widened my horizons, which is a must-do in your 20s. The incredible experiences I had and the long-lasting relationships I made will always be a reminder of how incredible it is to open your mind and heart to a new culture and embrace the little things, like the slower pace of life, the impeccable fashion style, the great tapas and sangrias, and of course, the being casually late rule!

The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
