What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned to be very independent and to adapt to new people, communities, and settings. I also learned a lot about Spain and its culture and people. It was a super enriching experience and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? I would strongly recommend all students to try to speak as much as possible in class as well as in the city setting to maximize their Spanish learning experience.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? The option for students to study with IES for the year is very uncommon and there are only a handful of students that stay for the whole year so be aware that each semester will be very different in terms of people and community if you choose to do a year.
