Since I lived with a host family, I was able to practice the language. My host family rarely spoke English, so I was forced to practice my limited French. I appreciate it now since I improved quite a bit. Also people rarely spoke English outside from my program so interacting with everyday people, I had to speak French.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
