Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Work wasn't too challenging which gave us enough time and opportunity to do our own things aroudnd the city and travel a decent amount. The classes that we did have were very interesting and my french definitely improved immensely. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The faculty was extremely helpful and welcoming and comforting. I don't think I would change much about it. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
They weren't the most welcoming family but they were very nice. We were separated most of the time but our interaction together was good. We started getting closer towards the end but never really reached an actual "family" level. |
* Food: |
Awesome. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
We had dinner on the Seine which was awesome! We went to see some plays. Field trips really didn't seem like they were for school but more for pleasure. Until we were tested on them. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I didn't have any health issues. They scared us into being safe the majority of the time. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | I probably spent $115 per week. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | I could have used more money for shopping and fun things. |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | None |
Language acquisition improvement? |
My host family, teachers, other students in the program, the locals. Most people started out speaking english but we tried to speak only in french by the end of it. |
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
