What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Listening comprehension and speaking skills vastly improved and since I'm a history geek, it was hard to choose what to see/visit first.

I did move homestays after the first month, but once I did move, my new host and hostess were phenomenal!

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

1.5 -Paris is very expensive, so take advantage of the university cafeterias located around the city, they're cheap and you get a lot to eat.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Anywhere from from $150-200 per week.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Use the university cafeterias, crepes are a cheaper, filling way to get a meal, but other than that, save your money, you will need it.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • History of the city
  • Staff was very helpful
* What could be improved?
  • Some homestays are not that great; I had to move from my first one
  • Some of the trips, they tried to fit in too much in too short a period of time.
  • Heating in the classrooms was nearly non-existent.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Nothing, I believe I was pretty well-prepared.
