Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The teachers were very knowledgeable and from Paris. They were happy to teach us. I got most out of class conversation over the assigned readings. My favorite French classes have been in Paris.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The people were very nice and helpful. More group events would have been nice.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

15th arrondissment. They had everything I needed. I had my own room, they always offered food, they did my laundry, and invited me to join them on outings all the time. The neighborhood was safe but it was not very close to nightlife.

* Food:

Instead of going to student lunch halls, go to bakeries. They sell sandwiches, salads, and pizza for about 3 euro.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The people were great. We traveled around Europe on the weekend and went out most nights.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Being out at night in a city is never safe. Blonds have a hard time not being harassed in the popular parts of the city at night.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

Living with a host family was essential to learning a foreign language.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
