IES Abroad: Paris Summer - Intermediate Language

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
The most important thing I learned is that not everywhere does things like the US, and that's okay! Different cultures have different ways of living that work for them, and I'm so glad I got to experience a different way of daily life.

I would choose a semester or year program to give myself more time to get accustomed to life in France, make French friends, etc.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I probably spent about $150 a week for food and other expenses.

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Take advantage of living with a host family and speak their language with them as much as possible! When you go out, order dinner in French, ask for directions in French - interact with natives in French as much as you can for a beneficial immersive experience.
