I learned a lot about Islam and the relationship that the United States has with predominantly Muslim countries. As a political science major, that experience was invaluable

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Pack things like toiletries and over the counter medicine. Your host family feeds you really well (probably more than you'd like), so as long as you bring stuff like toiletries your living expenses should be next to nothing

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish that I had known more about the expectations for women and their dress. Fortunately, I erred on the more conservative side, but I saw lots of other women wearing culturally inappropriate clothing. In general, remember that loosing fitting bottoms that are knee-length or longer are best!
