Definitely worthwhile. It was interesting to see the different perspectives of the US, Britain and more.

| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | spend as little as possible. look for sales and bargains. don't think you need to eat at every restaurant recommended to you. You're house/room supplies do not need to be name brand, generic brands work just as well and are cheaper. Bring your hair products with you along with deodorant. When you go out at night avoid clubs with covers or dont go to those clubs every night, go there when they hold specials for students and get free admission. They're not as fun anyway. Drink before you go to the bars and you'll spend less (just like at home). Walk as much as you can and save your bus passes for when you really need them. Walking home at the end of the night with your friends isnt as horrible as it sounds as opposed to taking a cab. Don't splurge on groceries. Buy what you need and compare prices as grocery stores and farm markets. Junk food is not necessary, and youll find this out. They're expensive and most times you dont need them. |
