* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My living arrangements were very nice - a clean, spacious house with nice amenities. However, it was a 40 minute commute into the heart of the city where my classes were. The public transportation is Vienna is so great though so it wasn't bad.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The program is what you make it. I signed up for the language buddy program, so I was paired with a local Austrian student. We hung out once a week, and I enjoyed getting to know her and her culture.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I had to visit a doctor once during my time abroad. The program staff set up my appointment with an English-speaking doctor, provided me with directions, etc.

* Safety:

Vienna feels very safe. I don't like to be out by myself at night in any city even in the US, but I never felt threatened or in real danger in Vienna.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

This is a tough question to answer. It depends on your lifestyle, the standards in the country you visit and whether you include travel costs in your weekly budget.

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language
