Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Wonderful. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Strengths in teaching, location. Weaknesses in students gaining language proficiency. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Fabulous apartment and location - right across from Vienna's largest market and a five and ten minute walk from two major opera houses. (I'm a vocal student.) |
* Food: |
I fed myself, so whatever I wanted/could afford, I ate. I also walked enough to eat mass quantities of Austrian chocolate without gaining weight. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Opera house. Four dollars for standing room. Down the street. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 90 dollars a week for food and entertainment, unless I traveled then, all bets were off for that. I spent a weekend in Paris, traveling from Vienna, for a total of $250 (I stayed with friends.) A week in Italy cost about 450 euros. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | I'd advise students to make sure they check the ATM fee for their bank account before they leave. |

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | Beginner |
