Edinburgh is Amazing!!! Past Review
By Dominique (Scripps College) - abroad from 01/09/2017 to 06/01/2017 with
IFSA: Edinburgh - University of Edinburgh
This experience was incredible! I learned how to live and manage my life while exploring and pursuing academics. It pushed me outside my comfort zone as well as encouraged me to be adventurous and take on new tasks.

On-site administration of your program |
The IFSA-Butler staff were always holding office hours where students could get their questions answered whether it was academic or social. IFSA-Butler had a lot of social and cultural events that allowed us to engage in Scottish culture as well as explore the country. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The housing was amazing! I lived in Darroch Court and had an amazing room, in a great location and great flatmates. |
* Food: |
I was not on a meal plan so I cooked my own food which worked out so well! Tesco and Sainsbury are cheap local markets and the kitchens were very easy to use in my flat! |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Since I went abroad second semester, I did not meet as many Scottish or international students. My main friend group consisted of IFSA-Butler students; however, I really enjoyed the friends and time that I had. I did meet a lot of people from Scotland throughout my semester. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
The system in the UK is so efficient! I suffered a major burn while abroad and was very quick to be helped with all medical care. |
* Safety: |
Edinburgh is an incredibly safe city! I felt 100% safe walking around at night. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
