About

The Diversity and Coexistence program at Hebrew University offers a unique opportunity for undergraduates to explore the intersections between identity, religion, community, nationalism and diversity in the city of coexistence — Jerusalem. Students engage in an interdisciplinary study of Israel’s approach to pluralism and social cohesion. Beyond the classroom the Institute for Study Abroad introduces students to Israelis representing a variety of religious, ethnic and sexual identities, as well as different political and socio-economic backgrounds. Students delve into the compelling and complicated variety of identities of immigrants and other citizens who may see themselves as Jewish before Israeli, or Israeli before Arab, or gay and Zionist, or Christian, Arab, and then Israeli.
