What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
YES.

Personal Information

The term and year this program took place: Spring 2009

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Not exceptionally difficult, but foreign professors were occasionally tough to decipher.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Single room in a suite. Five people sharing a kitchen. Individual bathrooms in each room.

Personal bathroom, rooms spacious enough. And the university cleaned the entire room, and bathroom, once a week.

* Food:

Prepared for myself, it was delicious

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Awesome school, and London is amazing.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

They hype up pickpocketing to keep you on your guard, but thats the biggest danger; very little physical violence in the UK in danger. But its a city, so you can't be an idiot.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100-150, but you can easily spend more. London is expensive. East End eases the pain, definitely cheaper than Central.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Taxes are high.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? A little removed from central, posh London but easy to get there.
