Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The teaching is so different from at Austin College, you have a lecture and a seminar, which is after your lecture where you discuss the topics discussed in the lecture. Also, there is less interaction with professors, you meet with your seminar leader once a week for each class. Grading is very confusing when you begin, because unlike in the US where a 70 is a C, it is actually equivalent to an A in the UK, so don't worry too much if you get 56, because that is around a B. The workload was not bad at all, they give you a syllabus and you have a couple papers, and maybe a test or two and then the finals which varies for classes. I had one real final exam and three papers due.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived right across from Madame Tussaud's. The dorm was very nice. We had the business campus connected to our dorm and another one of the campuses was a 20 minute walk away. All the rooms were singles, and you shared a kitchen with five people. The security was good, so no unallowed guest were able to get into the building. <br /><br /> The neighborhood was very safe, there were not many nightlife areas directly near our dorm, but there were nightlife areas a 10 minute bus ride away. this was right near 2 of the campuses and pretty close to central london. You were required to buy your own room supplies, like linens, blankets, etc. and cookware and food.

it was just difficult having to cook for yourself everyday, plus groceries and things were a little expensive in London.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I signed up for the Social Program offered by the university, it was a great experience. I got to go to some places I probably would have never visited on my own. Even if you don't know anyone on your trips just try talking to people because they are all exchange students as well. So I really recommend signing up for that if your school offers it.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

It was pretty safe, there were clinics around if you needed anything. I didn't really have any health issues I needed to address there.
