Inter University Centre Dubrovnik (IUC): Dubrovnik - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
Absolutely. I would do it all over again.
Personal Information
| How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 6 months+ |
Review Your Program
| * Overall educational experience Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. | The experience was unbelievable. I enjoyed the food, culture, scenery, and people of Croatia and Montenegro. A wonderful country to visit. The Victimology Conference was spectacular as well. Not usually is there a forum of international students and professors gathered to discuss the world's victimology. Once again, a great opportunity for anyone at any age. |
| * Host Country Program Administration On-site administration of your program |
 |
| * Housing: How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? | Most amenities were included, however several were out of order. One stove was operable, and the washer/dryer didn't work. Living with four other students in such a close proximity was challenging at times. Perhaps letting the students pick from several options of accomodations may be beneficial in the future, although I understand that this may be difficult to do as well. |
| * Food: | The local restaurants were ususally expensive. Lots of seafood incorporated in the Croatian culture, so if you love it, you'll be happy. |
| * Social & Cultural Integration: How integrated did you feel with the local culture? | There were fantastic excursions included in the conference experience. I tasted the best grilled mackerel on the Dalmatian sailing excursion. Pure awesomeness. |
| * Health Care: How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
 |
| * Safety: | I felt safe during my trip. We always traveled in groups. |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? | Yes
 |
Finances
| * Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget? (1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
 |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | I don't think there was any spending unanticipated. |
Language
| How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | None |
Direct Enrollment/Exchange
| * Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? | Direct Enrollment |
