Increased language proficiency A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned a lot about Taiwanese culture whilst improving my Chinese at the same time. I discovered that I could safely live on my own in Taiwan. It was definitely a worthwhile experience, I would love to go back. Whitney F - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I took some time to travel and I learned a lot about history and culture in addition to the language skills I gained. It was completely worthwhile A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
Yes it was extremely worthwhile, mostly the area, city and people, but also the program. Most other classmates are all college graduates and all they want to do is intensive chinese, all the time. If your agenda is slightly different than this it may be strange, but it can still be an amazing experience in an amazing country/ A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review

I gained amazing Chinese skills, long lasting friendships, valuable professional relationships, and resources to help me with continual Chinese learning overtime. Minnie N - Brandeis University View Entire Review
Absolutely worthwhile! I had wonderful teachers and classmates. I feel more confident in my own abilities to live independently. I learned about how best to learn a language, with constant practice and by listening to native speakers. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review

I gained a cultural experience that I could never have learned in a classroom. I also gained fluency in Chinese. Previously, I did not have any experience in reading and writing, however, after 9 months of intensive training, I am able to read newspapers and follow news broadcasts. I have learned to respect and appreciate other cultures. I will never forget the experiences and memory I had at my study abroad. Some of the people I met in Taiwan has become some of my best friends I have ever made. After my study abroad experience, my language proficiency has increased.
