About

Olé, Olé, Olé!

Buenos Aires is the kind of city that changes how you see the world.

There's nowhere quite like it — grand European architecture, electrifying culture, world-class food, and some of the most engaged, opinionated, warm people you'll ever meet. Buenos Aires is a place where you argue politics over dinner, learn tango in a neighbor's courtyard, and walk streets that carry a century of remarkable history. It earns its reputation as the Paris of Latin America — and then exceeds it.

IPSL's Argentina program isn't a sanitized study abroad experience. You'll live inside the city — volunteering with grassroots organizations, absorbing Spanish in real conversations, and contributing to communities that will remember your work after you're gone.

Build the program around your goals. Take Spanish classes — a little or intensively. Enroll in accredited academic coursework. Pursue community-based advocacy research. Volunteer with organizations doing real work on equity, health, education, and the arts. Every element is customizable, and IPSL handles the logistics so you can focus on the experience.

Where you might find yourself: supporting LGBTQ+ inclusion in local sports leagues; building and running a community library; designing nutrition programs for community kitchens; teaching mindfulness to nonprofit staff doing demanding work; developing arts access through a cultural center and youth orchestra; coaching a Little Football School for kids in the neighborhood.

A city worth investing in. The food scene alone justifies the flight — but beyond that, the depth of culture, the quality of Spanish you'll absorb just living here, and the seriousness of the civic organizations you'll work with make Buenos Aires one of the most substantive immersion experiences IPSL offers. Students who go tend to go back.

Financial aid is available, and IPSL accepts the AmeriCorps Segal Education Award. Talk to us about building a plan that works for your budget.
