About
Oi!
Rio de Janeiro, often called the "Cidade Maravilhosa" (Marvelous City), is a dynamic and captivating metropolis nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and towering mountains. It's a city where colonial architecture stands beside modern skyscrapers, and the vibrant pulse of samba music mixes with the rhythms of daily life. Rio's natural beauty, coupled with its infectious energy, makes it a truly unforgettable destination. Travel there with IPSL and learn Brazilian Portuguese and help make a difference alongside local “Cariocas”.
Discover the vibrant spirit of Rio de Janeiro from the inside as you learn Portuguese, volunteer in the community, and soak up the sun on its iconic beaches like Copacabana and Ipanema. Whether you're sipping a local coffee or a Caipirinha, dancing the samba, or simply taking in the breathtaking views, Rio offers a once-in-a-lifetime cultural experience.

Learn Brazilian Portuguese in a Fun, Supportive Setting: Located just minutes from the famous Ipanema Beach, IPSL’s partner school offers small group and private language classes in a relaxed, welcoming environment. It’s an ideal way to learn Brazilian Portuguese (“brasileiro”) while connecting with fellow international students and local instructors. -
Make a Difference While You’re Abroad: In addition to language learning, students can engage in meaningful volunteer work with youth empowerment organizations throughout Rio. Volunteer projects range from after-school tutoring to organizing sports and leisure activities—all aimed at supporting underserved children and teens in the community.
