Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The apartments we stayed in were nicely furnished and accessible to the university as well as Cape Town itself.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

There are quite a number of Americans who come to Cape Town to study abroad, so it was hard to get past the stigmatism brought on by most locals.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt safe for the majority of time I was in Cape Town. Interstudy as a program made sure that every student was equipped with instructions on how to act in case of any emergencies, and kept us all well-informed.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Most of the issues with the budget came from transportation costs into the city, as the public transportation system was not always secure.

* Was housing included in your program cost? Yes
* Was food included in your program cost? No
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $150
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Be mindful of how much you eat out, and the prices you pay for private cabs.
